November 30 - December 17

The Universe is in constant Motion. It’s expanding at the Speed of Light. On top of that, the Planet doesn’t move in a perfect Circle either. For those reasons, the Zodiac (or the Path of the Sun through the Constellations) is not a set pattern forever. But Humans, who have looked up at the Stars for thousands of Years for Guidance, have stopped tracking the Stars in relation to their Magic and Influence on our Lives. 

The Horoscopes were considered significant by many for a very long Time, but they have lost their credibility. Astrology has gone from a mystic Truth to Pseudoscience and now to a trite novelty at most in our modern, materialistic Existence. The Cause of this is twofold: (1) the dogmatic materialists cannot quantify the Effect of the Stars, and thus they dismiss them wholly; and (2) those that believe or know that the Stars do have a Magical and Supernatural sway over our tiny Lives on this little rock are mostly basing their systems of interpretation on incorrect, antiquated Astronomy. Instead of understanding where the Sun is in the Constellations, People use the Astrological signs from when Horoscopes first gained popularity and ubiquity – hundreds of years ago – when Polaris was still the truest North Star (it’s now Vega). The Cosmic Sphere has shifted, and We must acknowledge that if We are to better understand our place in the Cosmos and use that Power for the benefit of our interconnected Journey through them.

The Sun still travels through the twelve commonly recognized Signs of the Zodiac, though not on the dates listed in your Sunday paper. But Ophiuchus is the missing Sign in all of this. From November 30 through around December 17, each year of the recent past and near future (the Sphere doesn’t shift quickly of course), the Sun travels through the Constellation dubbed “The Serpent Bearer” – Ophiuchus. This “13th Sign” is the Key. The Serpent Bearer is a Myth We can create together. Ophiuchus is often associated with Medicine and Danger in the various cultural interpretations that have addressed this Constellation. The Snake’s Venom can be measured out carefully to cure, or it can be dispensed aggressively to poison. 

It is my Position that the Venom of the Serpent, in context of poisoning or curing this World, is Art – Music, Literature, Poetry, Theatre, Film, and all the assorted Visual Arts. Because Attention is the most powerful Force in this Universe – dismissed again by the dogmatic materialists, even though the Scientists, who materialists worship most, discovered that Attention changes the Nature of Light from a Wave to a Particle. Humanity has surrendered to systems of economics and trade and power and politics and individualism, because the People who understand the Power of Attention have manipulated it for their own material advantages. This is why Art is not a “viable career” in this World We live in now. It is why the Art that is often the most easily accessible to larger audiences is vapid and insidious dreck. Because it is now a Tool of the powerful interests in our Society to keep Us distracted – not to do what it is actually for – to inspire and connect Us. 

It is my Hope that, with the missing link in the Zodiac back in place, and with a focus on the true Path of the Sun, We will gradually and eventually make better use of our Attention. We can better control the Venom of the Snake to cure and not to poison.
